Practice
Within Practice, community members will utilize what they’ve learned throughout our time together on a specific classroom strategy: cogenerative dialogues. Through exposure to what Dr. Chris Emdin calls Reality Pedagogy, the community will use intentional conversations and collaborations with students in their classrooms to create both strong learning partnerships along with a rigorous and relevant learning experience for each and every student in their charge.
At the end of Phase III, community members will be armed with the knowledge and skills to both continue their learning and to begin to spread the work to other educators in their school community. We will celebrate the end of our time with both a Site Visit to a school within the community and a Culminating Convening where we will hear from Zaretta Hammond herself about why this work is so important and how educators can take the next step to ensuring that they are creating equitable learning opportunities for every student in every classroom.
