Inclusion and access

We believe that mathematics is for everyone, and that mathematicians at elite institutions (like us) have an obligation to work toward a more just world in both their research and professional activities.

Toward that end, we want this workshop to be a space where people can be their whole selves, free of harassment and discrimination. Any violation of these and other reasonable norms will not be tolerated.

We also support the Statement of Inclusiveness for events like this, found on Kasra Rafi's website, and Federico Ardila-Mantilla's axioms:

Axiom 1: Mathematical talent is distributed equally among different groups, irrespective of geographic, demographic, and economic boundaries.

Axiom 2: Everyone can have joyful, meaningful, and empowering mathematical experiences.

Axiom 3: Mathematics is a powerful, malleable tool that can be shaped and used differently by various communities to serve their needs.

Axiom 4: Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
