School Year: 2025–2026
Rigby Middle School is committed to ensuring that all students meet grade-level academic standards through targeted, data-driven supports. As a Title I school, Rigby Middle School prioritizes early identification of learning gaps and provides systematic interventions to support student growth in literacy and mathematics.
Rigby Middle School uses multiple measures to identify student needs and monitor progress throughout the school year.
CommonLit English Benchmarks are used schoolwide to:
Identify gaps in reading comprehension, vocabulary, and writing skills
Analyze student performance by standard and skill strand
Inform instructional planning and targeted interventions
SICA (Standards–Instruction–Curriculum–Assessment) framework is used to:
Identify specific math skill gaps aligned to grade-level standards
Monitor mastery of foundational and grade-level concepts
Guide instructional adjustments and intervention placement
Data from benchmarks, classroom assessments, and teacher input are reviewed regularly by grade-level and intervention teams to ensure supports are responsive and timely.
Students identified as needing additional support receive push-in intervention services during core instruction.
Title I paraprofessionals:
Work alongside classroom teachers
Provide small-group and individual support
Reinforce targeted skills identified through CommonLit and SICA data
This model ensures students remain in the general education environment while receiving differentiated support.
An elective tutoring class is offered to all students, with priority given to those demonstrating academic need.
The tutoring class provides:
Homework assistance
Reteaching of core concepts
Organizational and academic support
This built-in support helps prevent students from falling behind and promotes academic confidence.
Success for Math is a targeted intervention class for 6th and 7th grade students.
The program focuses on:
Closing identified math skill gaps
Pre-teaching upcoming concepts
Reviewing and reinforcing challenging material from regular math classes
Success for Math teachers collaborate closely with core math teachers to align instruction and ensure consistency.
Rigby Middle School offers Friday School as an additional support opportunity.
Friday School:
Is a regular instructional day focused on student success
Provides time for targeted help, skill reinforcement, and enrichment
Allows students to finish work, receive extra help, and strengthen understanding
All student work is posted on Schoology, ensuring access and continuity of learning.
