Tax Time Relief Live Model Horse Show 30 April 2022

Classlist, Rules, and Entry Form For Tax Time Relief Live, 30 April 2022

Tax Time Relief Live Model Horse Show

Saturday. 30 April, 2022, in the Homestead Room at the Inn at Sauder Village, Archbold, Ohio

Thank you for your interest in Tax Time Relief Live! In the spring, I hold my Trad and Classics-scale live show. Yup, you read that right—I’m moving the Classics to the spring, in their own division, so that the fall show, Veterans Day Live, will be a true minis show of LB-scale and smaller. This is not a NAN-show; the shows are taking a break from NAN. I am also capping my entrants at no more than 25. Thank you to everyone for your input on improving these live shows; I want them to be fun and enjoyable for all.

How to Enter: To make entering as fair as I can, I set an opening date and time. Entries submitted before that will not be accepted. At the date and time, send me a Facebook message if possible, or an email, saying you want to enter. This is a standard way of entering shows as fairly as possible. What most people do is type a message, such as, “I want to enter,” ahead of time so that all you have to do at the appointed time is hit “send.” My fall show sold out in two minutes; you don’t want to waste time typing at the appointed entry time and miss out. Seconds can determine if you get in or not; I will take entries in the order they come in. Once the show is filled, I will notify those that got in by Facebook Messenger or email and then they will have one week to submit payment. A wait list will be started for those who did not get in. Make sure you can attend as there will be no refunds; entry fees will be considered a donation to the charity. If the government steps in and we have to cancel, then all monies will be refunded. Of course we hope that is all in the past and that doesn’t happen.

Rooms at the Inn: I have a block of rooms reserved for this show. While The Barn Restaurant is a separate building (for dinner the night you arrive J), everything else is inside the Inn; the buffet breakfast, the swimming pool and hot tub, and oh, yes, the Homestead Room where the show is being held. If you call for a room, ask for the Riders Up on the Hill block. Here is the Sauder Village link and phone number: Saudervillage.org and 419-446-2541. If you would like to stay at another hotel nearby, Wauseon is our county seat and has several hotels by the fairgrounds, which is about 15 minutes away. There is a Holiday Inn Express, 419-335-1177, and please Google “Wauseon Ohio Hotels” for any others. Archbold has a Dairy Queen and a McDonalds; Wauseon has about every fast food restaurant you could ask for as well a Pizza Hut, Tanos Pizza, and other nice restaurants. Archbold tends to roll up its sidewalks early, so Wauseon may be a better choice for a late-night food run on Friday or Saturday.

Classes and Divisions: This is a Breed show for Traditional-scale and Classics scale. There also is a division for Medallions. The divisions are: OF Breyer/Other Trads, OF Breyer/Other Classics, OF Stone, OF Chinas/mass-produced resins, AR, CM, Medallions, and Performance. All Divisions will share the same class list except for China/Mass-produced Resins and Medallions; they have their own class list. Other Animals—all scales is an Other Animal Fun Show that also has its own class list. There is no proxy showing. All models must be owned by the exhibitor.

Documentation: For Breed, documentation is not required. However, if you are showing your model as a rare breed, such as a Noma Horse, documentation is encouraged. Whether your documentation is a print-out, a page from a book, a breed pamphlet, or something else, please use discretion on its size.

Class Limits: Performance—2 models per class. All other Breed classes—3 models per class. Fun Division Other Animals All Scales—no limit to however many models you’d like to enter. For the Model Horse Show, if you’d like to show more than 3 models per Breed class or more than 2 models per Performance class, you may put a dollar by the model when you put it in its class. This money all goes to the charity. Classes may be split if necessary.

Classes are now numbered! Divisions are CAPITAL letters: Breyer Trad—BT. Breyer Classic—BC. Stone—ST. CM—CM. AR—AR. China/Mass-produced Resins—CH. Medallions—M. The section is a small letter of the alphabet and the classes are numbered. For example, Breyer Trad Light Breeds Arab class is #BTa1. China Foals Sport/Spanish class is #CHi3. This is my first time doing classes like this; please let me know what you think.

All classes, including Performance, will run in the order in which they are listed. Classes will be called as soon as the judge is finished judging, so please listen for the judge to announce he/she is finished so you can start loading the next class. The table that is being used for the first Division that is finished will be used for the Other Animal Fun Show. Please listen for your classes so you don’t miss them. Results will not be recorded by the judges in this show so it will move along quickly.

Prizes: Paper ribbons will be awarded 1st-6th. Rosettes will be awarded for Section and Division Champions and Reserve Champions. For the Breed classes, there will be a Best in Show award. For Performance, there will be Section Champions and Reserves. There will be an Overall Performance Champion and Reserve. The Other Animals Fun Division has paper ribbons, 1st-6th, and rosettes for the Section Champions and Reserves. There will be an Overall Champion and Reserve for the Other Animals—All Scales Fun Show.

Raffle Items: There will be several raffle items; raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5. When you buy your tickets, you will have to put your name on each one and then put it in the cup for the prize you are hoping to win. Raffle items will be drawn later in the day. As all money raised goes to charity, any raffle donations are greatly appreciated. Anyone who donates a raffle item gets one free raffle ticket per donated item.

Ribbon buybacks: Your models have worked hard to earn their ribbons, so please feel free to keep them if your model places! J However, if you decide to trade in your ribbons for raffle tickets, the going rate is: 5 paper ribbons = 1 raffle ticket. 1 rosette = 1 raffle ticket.

Lunch: Sauder Village requires everyone coming into the Inn for a function to buy a lunch. I have no control over this. Box lunches are $12 each. The Inn also does not usually allow outside food brought in; however, for this show, please be discrete and you may bring snacks or closed-container drinks. This is my employer and this is their rule; if you bring anybody with you, such as a driver, to this show, that person also must buy a box lunch. Everyone attending a function at the Inn must purchase their food and in this case it is a box lunch. The lunches are potato salad, a cookie, chips, and either chicken salad, ham, or turkey croissant sandwiches. If you have special dietary needs, please let me know.

The Beneficiaries: Again all our proceeds will go to HOOVES, an equine therapy stable in Whitehouse, Ohio, that works with veterans. They are a fantastic organization and definitely deserve our support.
