Blood is a tissue responsible for carrying essential nutrients, oxygen and waste substances such as urea and carbon dioxide around the body.

Blood is a tissue composed of blood plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets.

A heart attack is caused because the coronary artery become blocked due to the build up of fatty deposits on the lining of the artery.

This deprives heart muscle cells the oxygen and glucose they require to carry out aerobic respiration. These cells begin to die leading to a myocardial infarction or heart attack.
