Biography

Hello ! I am Riddhiman Laha, and I am a researcher at the Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence, advised by Prof. Sami Haddadin and fortunate enough to work closely with Prof. Luis Figueredo. I want to achieve robust decision making abilities and real-time motion generation in robotic systems.

Prior to joining Hanson Robotics Ltd, where I was working as a Robotics Software Engineer, I was a graduate student at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Stony Brook University. I was a member of the Interacting Robotic Systems Lab and was advised by Prof. Nilanjan Chakraborty.

I grew up and spent most of childhood in Durgapur, West Bengal, India.

Broadly speaking my research interests are in robotics, manipulation/motion planning, and control.

I am also a co-organizer of Talking Robotics, a virtual seminar that happens fortnightly on various aspects of Robotics and its intersecting sub-fields.

News: I have been selected to participate in the 11th Heidelberg Laureate Forum in September 2024.
