Hello! I am Riddhiman Laha, a postdoctoral researcher advised by Prof. Seth Hutchinson at Northeastern University. I earned my Ph.D. at the Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence (TUM), under the guidance of Prof. Sami Haddadin, and fortunate enough to have worked closely with Prof. Luis Figueredo.
My research focuses on enabling robust decision-making and real-time motion generation in robotic systems.
In my past lives, I worked as a Robotics Software Engineer at Hanson Robotics Ltd. I was also a graduate student at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Stony Brook University, and a member of the Interacting Robotic Systems Lab advised by Prof. Nilanjan Chakraborty.
I grew up in Durgapur, West Bengal, India, where I spent most of my childhood.
I am a co-organizer of Talking Robotics, a virtual seminar that happens fortnightly on various aspects of Robotics and its sub-fields.
News: We are organizing a full-day workshop on Geometry in the Age of Data‑Driven Robotics at IEEE ICRA 2026 on June 5.
