In this assignment, I and the group conducted an assessment of the Boise community. We gathered information and data regarding some of the most prominent health risks and concerns in the community. We put together and found a few metrics to measure these concerns and help with identifying potential causes and solutions. I think that this group assignment is a perfect example of public health context because its sole purpose is to gather information about the community in order to better assess and understand its struggles and needs. While also working in a team-based atmosphere. Which are both common aspects of public health research. In this assignment, I learned more about how to gather data, identify the needs of a community, and work together with others.
