Joseph Francis Merrill was born Aug 24, 1868 in Richmond to Marriner Wood and Maria Loenza Kingsbury Merrill. Joseph served many callings in his life, such as: Principal of the University of Utah College of Engineering, Branch President of Ann Arbor, sixth Commissioner of Church Education of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Granite Utah Stake President member, and Member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
