Anna Sophia Petersdotter Israelsson was born April 20, 1843 in Kristvalla, Sweden to Peter Israelsson and Anna Nilsdotter.
The Israelsson family moved from Sweden to Bornholm, Denmark when Christena was the age of five. Anna was able to obtain an education until she was 14. In May of 1860, the Israelsson family was converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day, however, Anna's father would later fall into inactivity.
In 1866, the Israelsson family began preparations to move to Utah, but it was made difficult when Anna's mother and older sister died. All by herself, at the age of 23, she left Denmark on May 12, 1866 on an unknown ship. She arrived in New York City, New York on July 5, making their way to the Nebraska Territory. The company Anna joined to cross the plains is unknown, but she made it to Utah on Sep 29, 1866.
Soon after her arrival, Anna moved to Wanship, Utah where she lived with Bishop George G. Snyder. Anna married Hans Madsen Funk on May 24, 1869 in Salt Lake City, Utah as his second polygamous wife. She moved to Richmond the same year. The family would later move to Newton, Utah when Hans was called to be the bishop of the area.
Anna Sophia Petersdotter Israelsson died Aug 3, 1910 in Richmond. She was buried in the Richmond Cemetery.
