Henrietta Messervy was born March 20, 1836 in Saint Helier, Jersey to Josué and Jeanne Robert Messervy. Henrietta is a Pioneer of Cove.
The early history of Henrietta is unknown. In 1849, Henrietta's brother joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1849, with Henrietta joined the following year. Their partents joined the following year, and peperations began to move to Utah. The Messervy family sailed from Liverpool on the Golconda on Jan 23, 1853, and arrived in New Orleans, Louisiana on March 26. The Messervy family joined the Joseph W. Young Company in Keokuk, Iowa on June 1 and arrived in the Salt Lake Valley on Oct 10.
The Messervy family settled in Tooele, Utah. Henrietta married Alsen Hayne Hamblin in a polygamous relationship on June 23, 1856, but divorced six months later because of miss treatment of Alsen's first wife. Soon after the Messervy moved to Santaquin, Utah and Henrietta married Robert Hughes Dowdle on March 27, 1857 in Santaquin.
In 1860, the Dowdle family moved to Cache Valley. They settled in current-day Cove and made a homestead in the area. Sometime in the late 1860s, the Dowdle family moved to Franklin, Idaho. The Dowdle family moved to Cove in 1876, and in 1906, the Dowdle family sold their farm and moved to Preston, Idaho.
Henrietta Messervy died July 20, 1919 in Teton, Idaho. She was buried in the Franklin, Idaho Cemetery.
