James Carson Allen

About

James Carson Allen was born March 21, 1858, in Herriman, Utah to Elijah and Eliza Ann Bickmore Allen. He was eight years old when he and his family moved to Richmond.

Richmond Life

After the death of James' father in 1866, the family moved to Richmond to be closer to his family. While there, James and his other siblings work primarily on local and family farms to help pay for the needs of the family. After many years of work, Elijah Jr. and James moved out of their mother's home and built a new home in Cove.

On March 1, 1883, James married Betsy Lowe in the Salt Lake Temple. They had 11 children with 10 living to adulthood. James then entered a polygamist marriage with Helen Nellie Lowe on Sep 11, 1884. They also had 11 children with 10 living to adulthood.

Epilogue

James Carson Allen died on Feb 8, 1935 in his home in Cove. He was buried in the Richmond Cemetery between Hellen and Betsy who died in 1917 and 1935.
