Susan Pugh married John Bright Jr. Aug 18, 1835 in Knoxville, Tennessee. On March 2, 1842, John and Susan were baptized members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1844, the Bright family moved to Nauvoo, Illinois to live with the rest of the Saints. They lived in Nauvoo until 1852 when the family moved west to Utah, joining the Isaac Steward Company, arriving Alpine, Utah in Sep 15, 1852. The Bright family lived in Alpine until 1860 when Gilbert Bright invited his family to settle in Richmond.
