Paul J. Erickson

Paul J. Erickson served as the 33rd Mayor of Richmond from 2022-2025.

In a message to the citizens of Richmond, Mayor Erickson stated that he was not seeking re-election in 2025.

"In December, I will complete my final month in public office – a period encompassing some 14 years representing the residents of our great city. Together with my wife, Leslie, we have dedicated a total of 22 years of our lives to public office– all of which has been in the community we love. In sincerity we invite others to do as we have done – to jump into public service with both feet, to bring fresh ideas, and to join with our great council and be a resource and a solution for everyone.

"I am deeply grateful to the current council for their personal sacrifices as its members have participated in the many studies that were undertaken to provide a framework for important and necessary public works projects that will begin to take place this year.  I also express my gratitude for Justin Lewis, for HollyJo Karren, and for her entire staff of public servants who work for you and for me each day of the week with skill, cheerfulness and insight. They are prepared to assist in moving the work forward for years to come."
