Elmer Gustave Skidmore was born April 29, 1897 in Richmond to William Lobark and Charlotta Wilhelmina Eklund Pearson Skidmore. Elmer was a veteran of World War I. Elmer served as the 22nd Mayor of Richmond.
Elmer G. Skidmore served as the 22nd Mayor of Richmond from 1946-1948.
He was succeeded by Amos W. Bair.
On June 22, 1971, while working in a field west of Richmond, the tractor he was operating tipped backward on a hill, threw Elmer off, hitting his head and dying instantly.1 He was buried in the Richmond Cemetery.
