The Richmond Department was organized on November 11, 1913. The Department was "...to appear regularly every Tuesday issue and in connection with the news features from the busy little city up north..." Editorial comments were provided by 'Busy Ben', 'Phinancial Phil', and witnesses of Richmond.
The Department was published in the Logan Republican, the common Republican newspaper outlet in Cache County. In 1910, Richmond citizen Herschel Bullen Jr. purchased the Republican, likely the one who inspired the creation of the Department.2
"The city has grown to such proportions that the leading citizens feel that their city is entitled to a little publicity and the best medium at hand..." It was published for many years until 1917. Almost all issues were digitized by the University of Utah's Utah Digital Newspapers website.1
