Richmond City Rec. Park
About
The Richmond City Recreational Park is located in Block 18, or in-between 100 West and State St. Located within the perimeter of the Park are:
Two baseball diamonds on the north plot: one on the northeast corner meant for more mature games of baseball with metal bleachers and a grandstand, and the other on the southwest corner meant more for little league baseball games with a drinking fountain that is on only on special occasions.
Two large fields on the south and north plots were meant for field games like soccer, football, or ultimate Frisbee. Two soccer nets are also available to those who want to use them.
Two male and female restrooms on the north plot.
History
The land that is currently the Richmond City Recreational Park was used for multiple purposes. The first was for semi-agricultural use, and the other was for schooling where the Red Brick School stood from 1890-1937. From 1909-1946, Richmond City purchased many parcels of land for the benefits of holding baseball games at the grandstand and to have a permanent home for Black & White Days. After the destruction of the Red Brick school, the land was converted into more field space, but the land was still owned by the Cache County School District until 2017.
