The Tripp Brothers Farmstead, also known as the Valley Vet Farm, is a historic farm located in southeast Richmond with a home, barn, and grainery. The barn was built in 1895, the home in 1898, and the granary in 1906.
Robert Tripp and Diana Emery raised their family in Maine before moving to Richmond in 1875. Their two oldest sons, William Robert Tripp and Enoch Bartlett Tripp, built the barn that would occupy this area in 1895. The home was constructed in 1898, and the granary was built in 1906. The barn, like many in Richmond, was used to house horses in one half, and the other to milk cattle for the Sego Milk factory.
The barn and property had been sold and used by many individuals throughout their history. In 1991, Dr. Scott Paul Tripp, great-grandson of William R. Tripp, and his wife purchased the property and refurbished the barn and granary into a veterinary service for Richmond, establishing Valley Veterinary. In 2021, the Rock Wall Garden, a learning place for those with autism, was established on the farmstead.
