Ash & Oak Design Studio (A&O) was run and operated by US Captain Dustin (Dusty) Butler and Mark Butler. Their showroom was located on the east side of US Highway 91. A&O constructs and designs furniture and other home decors, such as dining, end, coffee, sofa, and entryway tables; fireplace mantles; floating shelves; barn doors; cutting and cheese boards; pen holders; military challenge coin holders; burnt wood flags; desks; small cabinets; and other special orders.1 Ash & Oak moved from Richmond in 2022.

Mark Butler

Mark Butler at a young age lived on a family farm in southern Idaho moving sprinkler pipes, hauling hay, driving trucks for the family farm and other farms, and worked on land with various types of equipment. While on the farm, he learned the basics of woodworking from his father who was a "country carpenter."2

Mark has a Bachelors in Business Management from Brigham Young University, and served a mission in Argentina. He married Becky in 1979, and they have four children and 11 grandchildren. For 25 years, Mark worked IT Consulting and 10 years in Dallas, Texas working for American Airlines. Mark and Becky moved to Cache County in 2019.2

Captain Dustin Butler

Dustin Butler received a love of woodworking from his Grandpa Butler, and has developed his woodworking abilities for the last 10 years. He is married to Anna, and they have 3 children. 2

"Dustin Butler is currently active duty military with the rank of Captain in the US Army. His current assignment is teaching Military Science at the ROTC at Utah State University. He holds a BS degree in Airport Management from North Dakota State and after commissioning, he trained as a Kiowa OH-58D helicopter pilot and was deployed to South Korea. He later shifted to fixed wing and trained to fly the Guardrail and completed a tour of duty in Afghanistan flying recon and serving as a Battle Captain."2
