William "Bill" Howard Nivison was born June 26, 1902 in Osborne, Kansas to Samuel Walter and Mary Sedate James Nivison. Bill graduated from Wichita School of Pharmacy in 1922, and the following year, married Marie G. Barnt. In 1930, the couple moved to Richmond.
In 1937, Bill and Marie purchased the Richmond location of Prescription Drug Co. of Logan, Utah. The pharmacy was located in the Hendricks Confectionery Building. At his retirement on Jan 6, 1973, Nivison Drugs had a final sale and closed its doors. The state liquor store housed inside the building and operated by their son, Terry Nivison, continued.
