RENTAL PROGRAM
Nordic ski is a sport with a lot of equipment, but the Nordic Ski Booster Club helps provide skis and boots for new skiers or those on a limited budget. The cost is very reasonable and helps skiers try out the sport with little upfront cost.

NOTE TO PARENTS AND SKIERS WHO ARE RENTING GEAR:
Please make checks out to Richfield Nordic Ski Team. NO GEAR WILL BE ISSUED UNTIL RENTAL FEES ARE RECEIVED. All rental money goes towards purchasing equipment for the team. Once checks are received, skiers will receive skate skis, boots, poles, and a ski bag. Skiers are responsible for all lost or stolen gear during the season. Lost skis will cost the renter $100.
Skiers with more experience or budget should consider collecting some of their own equipment through ski swaps, Craig's List, skinnyski.com website, or local stores listed below.
Clothing
Recommended Clothing for Nordic Skiing
Dressing in layers is really important for Nordic skiing. You want to be able to add or remove layers so you don’t overheat or get too cold.
Top:
Base layer/long underwear top (synthetic to move sweat away from your body)
Long sleeved shirt/light fleece/light puffer jacket
Hoodie and/or lightweight windproof jacket/ski jacket
Bottom:
Base layer/long underwear (synthetic to move sweat away from your body)
Wind briefs for boys for the really cold, windy days
Ski pants. Pants with full length zippers on each side are great for wearing at the starting line. Being able to remove them without removing skis is a benefit.
Hat/headband to cover ears
Gloves/Mittens/Lobster Gloves
Buff/Gator
Socks - Synthetic Wool
Boots, Skis, Poles
Water Belt
Sun Glasses (cuts down on glare and keeps snow and wind out of your eyes)
DERMATONE or similar frostbite prevention/skin protector/SPF
