BUAD 8009 – Strategy Dynamics - This course introduces participants to the dynamics of strategy. It focuses on the situations that will create and sustain competitive advantage and, by extension, create and sustain competitive advantage. It addresses these variables in a manner that will be beneficial to the leaders in business, government, and society. The course will therefore benefit participants who:
Need to grasp strategic management concepts via exploring first-rate local, regional, and international examples;
Need to understand the various tools used in strategic analysis; how and when they are used to enhance the management and corporate decision-making process;
Yearn to unearth the latest developments in theory and practice of strategic management;
Desire to explore the benefits or strategic thinking and understand how their embracing of such thought processes could contribute to enhanced competitiveness at their workplace;
Seek to learn best practice in crafting and implementing business strategies in today’s volatile and unpredictable market environment.

BUAD 8030 - Business Econometrics - This course provides students with the tools that will enable them to:
Understand and apply key econometric concepts, models and techniques for cross-sectional and panel data to their research.
Understand possible shortcomings in the application of these techniques and measures which can be taken to address these issues.
Execute regression procedures, interpret STATA output and deal with common obstacles and issues that confront researchers.
Read and interpret basic analytical methods that are used in published research.
Master-Level Courses
INBA 6152 Business Analytics & Quantitative Analysis Models for Decision Making - This course is not oriented toward the detailed theoretical underpinnings of the tools that will be used. Its goal is to introduce students to concepts in the field and help them develop, interpret and apply the results derived from the use of these tools.
The student will gain experience employing and should be able to demonstrate a basic competence with the tools and techniques used in real-life business environments.
To foster an appreciation of the required social and ethical responsibilities of corporate/business leaders and enable the practice of decision-making habits that reflect this awareness.
To enable the application of previous and newly acquired knowledge and experiences to generate innovative and disruptive solutions to complex problems and challenges.
SALI6019 Elements of Official Statistics - After completing this course, students should be able to appreciate critical cultural facets that ought to prevail among allied professionals who work as official statisticians. This is also important in the context of persons who will eventually work as policy analysts, researchers, academics and other specialists who contribute directly and indirectly to processes designed to facilitate sustainable development in social and economic spheres. Upon being exposed to the different course modules, students are expected to develop a much deeper appreciation for those symbolic elements of processes facilitating the production and consumption of official statistics that are critical in meeting the needs of development initiatives. In particular, exposure to this course will enable students to strive for higher international standards as they assume roles as producers and consumers of official statistics while at the same time, doing so in keeping with the cultural realities of the Caribbean Region.
Competencies to be demonstrated by the student are as follows:
Familiarity with the nature and scope of official statistics and national statistical systems
Comprehensive recognition of the standard requirements of national statistical offices and in particular, ethical concerns that arise in the context of producing and dissemination such statistics
Broad appreciation of the main issues that prevail in the context of managing statistical environments and options that are likely to enhance efficiency with respect to the production of official statistics
Greater ability to enhance and use systems for the production and dissemination of official statistics
Foster co-operation and collaboration with the range of stakeholders who use official statistics with a view to enhancing the quality and production of official statistics
INBA 6156 Data Visualization with Tableau - This course introduces students to the principles and practices of data visualization using Tableau, one of the leading tools in the field. Students will learn how to create effective, interactive, and aesthetically appealing visualizations that communicate data-driven insights. The course covers fundamental visualization techniques, including charts, maps, and dashboards, as well as best practices for storytelling with data. Students will gain hands-on experience with real-world datasets and explore how to analyze and present data in a way that enhances decision-making.
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
Understand key concepts of data visualization and its importance in data analytics.
Use Tableau to import, manipulate, and visualize data.
Build various types of visualizations (e.g., bar charts, line graphs, scatter plots, heat maps).
Create interactive dashboards for dynamic data exploration.
Apply design principles to create clear, impactful, and user-friendly visualizations.

PMMG - 6010 Strategy Development and Innovation - The objective of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the concepts, theories and models in developing strategy and improving competitiveness in the Port and Maritime sector. We will provide examples of strategies utilized in improving competitiveness and innovation in the Port and Maritime industry and critically, appraise where and when such models are useful. Provide examples and exercises that illustrate these concepts with the intent of building students’ capabilities in strategic thinking, innovation and competitiveness in the maritime field.
