Intrinsic Value: Analytical judgement of the "real value" of a company based on projected earnings and other perceived characteristics inherent in the investment (quality of management, brand name, and uniqueness of product).
Trend: The tendency of a securities price to move relatively smoothly in an upward or downward direction
Consolidate: The tendency of a securities price to remain in a horizontal channel for a period of time
Reverse: The tendency of a securities price to change trend direction from an uptrend to a downtrend or from a downtrend to an uptrend
Thrust: A market move in price in the direction of the trend. Thrust can be up or down, depending on the overall trend direction
Channel: A narrow range of prices where prices bounce from high to low without breaking out in either direction. It can slope upward, downward or sideways.
Consolidation: Channel is basically horizontal, where upswings are generally the same as downward swings. This is due to a balance between buyers and sellers leading to a sideways trend in prices
