The High School Band: The Pride of The Riceland

The Stuttgart High School Band is the premier performing ensemble of our music department. Comprised of students from 9th through 12th grade, this group represents the pinnacle of our program’s dedication, discipline, and musicality.

Being a member of the High School Band is about more than just music; it’s about leadership, teamwork, and representing our community with excellence on every stage—from the football field to the concert hall.

Where We Perform

Our schedule is packed with opportunities for students to shine and for the community to cheer us on:

• Friday Night Lights: We provide the heartbeat of every Ricebird football game, performing in the stands and at halftime.

• Marching Competitions: In the fall, we take our show on the road to compete in regional and invitational contests, testing our skills against the best bands in the state.

• Concert Season: After marching season, we transition into the concert hall, focusing on masterworks and refining our technical proficiency for Region Concert Assessment, and State Concert Contest.

• Community Events: From local parades to pep rallies, the band is always there to fuel school spirit and celebrate our town.

The Competitive Edge

In the High School Band, we push our students to reach their full potential. Our members regularly participate in:

• All-Region & All-State Tryouts: Students have the opportunity to audition for elite ensembles, competing for chairs among the top musicians in the area.

• Solo & Ensemble: A chance for musicians to perform individually or in small groups for professional feedback and awards on both the region and state level
