The Beginning Band is the foundation of our entire music program. Currently open to all 7th graders and any 8th graders looking for a fresh start, this ensemble is designed for students with zero prior musical experience.
We take pride in starting from the very beginning. From learning how to open the case for the first time to performing our very first concert, we focus on building a strong musical foundation, fostering teamwork, and—most importantly—having fun!

To give our students the best chance at success, we emphasize the importance of using high-quality, educator-approved instruments.
While it may be tempting to buy a "budget" instrument online, these often have poor intonation, break easily, and are impossible for local shops to repair. A struggling instrument leads to a struggling student. A quality instrument ensures:
Easier Playability: The keys and valves work smoothly, so students don't have to fight the machine to make a sound.
Better Tone: Students feel more confident when they sound great from day one.
Reliability: Durable construction means fewer trips to the repair shop and more time in class.

Our Preferred Rental Partner
We have partnered with Arkansas School Band Services to ensure our students have access to top-tier instruments and reliable maintenance plans. Renting is a great way to get a quality instrument with low monthly payments. They will be on campus August 20, 2026 from 3:30-6:00pm in the Choir Room to help arrange for an instrument or click the button below to rent through their website.
