RibbitRePublic is an independent theatre company that has toured and performed for over 20 years in numerous productions and festivals across North America, including over a dozen Fringe Festivals, Just For Laughs in Montreal, Canoe in Edmonton, The Living Arts Centre in Mississauga, the Vancouver Comedy Festival and Off-Broadway's Soho Playhouse.


Ribbit has appeared in Oprah Magazine and on MTV and has been featured in The National Post, Toronto Star, Star TV, and CBC Radio.

Watch for RibbitRePublic on the Fringe Festival circuit in 2022, with Jayson McDonald's Iago vs Hamlet and the premier of Jon Paterson's first solo-written show, How I Met My Mother.

For such an independent theatre company, RibbitRePublic has enjoyed much acclaim, including the Outstanding Solo Show Award at the London Fringe Festival (House), the Critics' Choice Best Male Performance Award (Jon Paterson) at the 2014 Orlando Fringe Festival, the 2005 Sterling Award for Outstanding Fringe Production (Pilk’s Madhouse), seven Sterling Award nominations (for BoyGroove, Pilk’s Madhouse, Bouncers, Minding Dad and Danny and the Deep Blue Sea), over a dozen Best-of-Fest honours, the 2005 Just For Laughs Award (BoyGroove), and The Centaur Theatre Award for Outstanding Production at the Montreal Fringe (BoyGroove).
