I am a senior majoring in Computational Biology and Science, Technology, and Society, and I will be staying at RPI for the Biology co-terminal program.
For the past two years, I have served as the 51st Undergraduate President—one of the highest elected positions in Student government—overseeing the Undergraduate Council, the Union's undergraduate legislative body.
Since the very first moment I arrived at RPI in the fall of 2020, I have been an active voice in Student Government. Previously, I served as the Class of 2024 Vice President (October 2020–March 2021), the Class of 2024 President (March 2021–March 2022), the Communications Director and Project Lead for the Student Senate's Facilities and Services Committee (June 2021–September 2022), and the Panhellenic Director of Communications (December 2021–September 2022). Across all of these positions, I have made communication a priority, striving to be as transparent as possible and ensuring that I represent the student body to the best of my ability.
In the past four years, my direct actions have resulted in...
Increased transparency and communication between students and administrators
Additional mental health resources and support groups
Improved residential policies
Increased food offerings and food quality in the dining halls
Refined COVID-19 policies during the peak of the pandemic
Improved Arch preparation materials and guidance
Enhanced academics and social life during the Arch Summer Semester
Changes to the academic calendar to provide additional time off between the end of the summer semester and the start of the fall semester
Weekly Union events emails, promoting upcoming student-led events and activities
Enhanced career resources and increased transparency of student outcomes after graduation
Countless events and activities for all students
...and much more!
Outside of my work in Student Government, you might have seen me giving a tour around campus as an Admissions Ambassador or at the Welcome BBQ's as a Student Orientation Advisor. I am also a member of the Phalanx Honor Society, and I do research in the Rose Lab as part of the Darrin Freshwater Institute and the Jefferson Project at Lake George. When I have the time, I love to paint and play the drums, or explore some of the local places in Troy and the surrounding area.
As your Grand Marshal, I will continue to fight for student rights and ensure your voices are heard. If you have ideas or issues you want to bring up, email me at massor2@rpi.edu. I will advocate for you in my current capacity as Undergraduate President and will ensure that these issues are at the forefront of the next Student Senate.
