Interested in Joining?
Members will:
work directly with Rhode Island readers in grades 6-8
be available to meet once a month from September to April for their full three year term. The committee meets on the first Thursday of the month at 5pm from September to April.
have an interest in middle grade literature and commit to a high level of reading
What does being a member entail?
RIMSBA committee members serve a three year term.
RIMSBA committee members read a minimum of 30 books each reading season.
RIMSBA committee members will meet once a month from September to April to discuss and vote on potential books for the RIMSBA list. Meetings are the first Thursday of the month at 5pm.
RIMSBA committee members ultimately are responsible for selecting the 20 books nominated for the RIMSBA award each year.Â
