The Rahway High School African American Alumni, Inc. (RHSAAA) started in the summer of 1977, when several of the African American classmates of Rahway High School Class of 1972 decided to host a “get together” at the Union County Park located in Rahway, New Jersey.

On January 23, 2012, RHSAAA was granted a Certificate of Incorporation, Nonprofit from the State of New Jersey and has an exempt status under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code for public charity. One of the purposes for which this nonprofit corporation was organized is to award scholarships to Rahway High School African American seniors who will matriculate beyond high school in an accredited institution of higher learning (not only college but also trade/technical schools, etc.).

To date, RHSAAA, Inc. has awarded 90 scholarships for an amount totaling over $80,000.00. Our aspirations are lofty and will continue to require our best efforts. We cannot do it alone; we will continue to need your support. Your donations and contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law.
