The Interior of the vehicle is a blank slate! We have begun sketching how we image it with painter tape and will next build out to-scale furniture with cardboard so we can move in the area and make sure it works.
With our experience living in our camper for extensive time, we know our priorities for the space. Cooking comfortably, without compromise in tools, spices and ingredients is essential. Maximum counter space, under counter storage and pantry. Fitting all requires clever placement and configuration of the systems, like batteries, control panels, water heater, etc. We will also shop out pots and pans beforehand to be certain of size before committing to cabinets.
The Back End:
Sink, Dinette, Storage, Cooking Area
Sink (left corner) Dinette Bench (right), Water Heater (rectangle left). All interior walls are 60 mil FRP. That iincludes the bathroom and the wall that the dinette is shown. On the other side of the diinette wall is the garage storage area.
Sink Area, water heater mounted on the wall, plumbing access in left corner floor for in floor heating.
Dinette (left) Control Panels (Upper Left) Counter/Cooking Area (right tape line). Over those sweet windows will be cabinets and led light strips. The ceiling will get special treatment to be determined. Top of the list is antique tin.
View from the Bedroom Mezzanine
The rectangular squares are possible placement of water heater, control panels. Our water tank of a minimum of 100 gallons will be below the dinettte area in the elevated space. Windows are KDT dual pane with built in shades and screens.
The lofted storage at the back, above the bike garage, has areas on the sides that may be hard to use. We are investigating putting electronics or such things that take up space but don't requiire daily access up there.
The storage will have boxes on drawers that slide out, probably three across like we have simulated with the boxes in this image.
Idea for ceiling tile -- punched tin in silver or copper
Mudroom Entrance
Shower and Restroom
Bathroom area with frosted glass door closed to the twalette.
The door hinge rotates so the door can lock to close off the whole mud room or just the toilet room.
Bathroom deployed in shower mode. This makes it a wet bath, or ability to multitask while performing necessary tasks. Toothbrush holder and waterproof cell phone charger will be located here as well.
Here you are standing at the main entry looking into the foyer/shower/mud room. This is such a great idea, in my opinion.
Split Kitchen
Counter is the top line on the left. Too high here. We accidentally were thinking of putting it in line with the top of the seats in the dinnette.
Dinette (Left) Counter with the rectangle beneath. Too high here. Rectangle is meant to be the control panel, but we now will have that for pots and have the panel elsewhere
Messy view Counter(right) Dinette (back) sink (far left)
Counter (left). Trying to decide whether to put a shelf above the window.
Refridgerator is lofted in front of ben. Batteries may be under fridge area, orr it will be shoe storage.
Bedroom Alcove
& Skylight to Party Platform
Looking forward into the master bedroom.
Lines in the floor is the hydraunic in floor heating system.
Truck to Habitation Box Pass-Through
Blue tape shows a possible drop-down bench that could double as a step-up
Rumpled Bedroom Area - Should we have two shelf or dresser systems? One on each side, or a large on on the wall with no window. Emily leans towards the latter because it will be more total storage and not mess with the window.
The Garage
Future home of 2-4 bikes that slide out on rails. Access from both sides.
Mountain bikes fit without wheel removal or twisting handlebars. If we have road bikes suspended from the ceiling, we will need to be more creative.
Other thoughts on the space are have ceiling-mounted boxes that hinge outwards.
Pegboard for tools on walls and inside door. As well as stickers of all the places we've been.
