About the Chef

Rhia cooks and serves her cuisine in Dallas, Texas. She is Punjabi, native to Pakistan. Rhia has a MBA and has attended university for her post-graduate studies to earn a doctorate in Business, and she has worked in 4 restaurants. That includes the first ever restaurant in the history of the USA to offer home delivery of pizza. Rhia made suggestions for food menu items used in major restaurant operations throughout the world for Pizza Hut and other restaurants as the recipes were added to the global menus. 

Reality TV

She has met several chefs that went on to become celebrity chefs on Reality TV in her work with marketing for cable and prime time TV channels when she had her own marketing business. Rhia has had a passion for cooking from an early age. She was asked to consider a career in modeling. She was pursuing a child career in acting when she was invited to India to be a child dancer in the famous movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai with Kajol Devgan and Shah Rukh Khan, but the movie was shelved and later made at a time when the children had grown up and new children were cast in the dancing scene of children at a summer camp in the famous city of Shimla in India.

Academics

Since then, Rhia was finishing school and beginning college to study law and business, following in her family tradition of attending college, and her choices were in America or England. She was also interested in studying business for an MBA in Egypt, but chose to attend online studies in America. Rhia was developing recipes for Pizza Hut and also working at their restaurant learning the skill of Restaurant Operations while also learning about Marketing during the time she was attending college. After she decided to stay in college and not pursue a Reality TV appearance on a cooking show in India, or a career as a singer, to which her dad responded he thinks she can make it as a singer, Rhia turned her attention to getting her MBA and continuing to expand her father's businesses while renovating their large home and considering a career in real estate to flip properties or own several locations for Air BNBs. After her MBA, Rhia went on a world tour during her post-graduate studies to Europe, Latin America, and Turkey in Asia, and she was inspired to develop her international Halal menu. She did not complete her doctoral degree but utilized her MBA to begin a career with her own virtual restaurant with Shef. 

Family Life

In 2019, Rhia moved to Dallas with her husband, that played the sport of cricket for Pakistan in college and was seen playing on TV while being selected for the national team of Pakistan and he was also scouted to play for a team in New Zealand. He continued a different career path in Dubai, UAE. Rhia moved with him to settle in their new home in America to begin a family with her husband. She maintains that her lifetime as a noblewoman became their lifetimes together. Finding inspiration in cooking, Rhia is now offering her traditional Pakistani and Mediterranean menu to the residents of Dallas, Texas. She is also offering Halal desserts through CUPCAKEShalal also on Shef.

Hobbies

Rhia is an avid world traveler. She has the hobbies of photography, music, art, learning languages, and continuing to earn certificates, such as in Nutrition for her cooking skills. She likes to build unique dishes with the fusion of flavors in her menu such as her popular Tandoori Chicken and Mango Pico de Gallo Salsa Soft Tacos that come in a set of 2! Rhia is inspired by her travels to create her most unique flavor palettes.

Background

Rhia is a Punjabi-American from Pakistan with roots from Afghanistan and Hindustan (Bharat) dating back 500 years in her family tree. She hopes you find her menu as delicious as she loves cooking! She believes cooking is all about bringing people together, love and laughter. Rhia is a philanthropist that has a main goal to eliminate hunger in the world because of poverty. She supports feeding the homeless in America and feeding the poor to break their fasts during Ramadan in other nations in the world.

Inspiration

Rhia's Halal Mediterranean was founded on the idea that all food menus can be created HALAL, a term which has requirements for how to prepare and cook meat dishes with requirements slightly above the term KOSHER, which is also referred to as ZIBBIYA, Rhia's Halal Mediterranean creates recipes and serves dishes that are certified HALAL. Desserts are also HALAL with no gelatin or non-halal products in ingredients.
