Let's talk The Orville! 8/07/22

Literally just as I'm writing about this I have just finished watching the final episode of The Orville Season 3 Episode 10 "Future Unknown". I'm deciding to write about this because I think this show is amazing and it deserves it's own let's talk on the more page on the website. Obviously Spoilers ahead and if you haven't watched the show I'll be talking about the base of why I like the show before I go into more specific detail.

I'm not exactly sure what genre overall The Orville is but it's a show based on a future generation of people who are very advanced and where money isn't really a thing. The show is Science fiction for the most part but it has great action, romance, comedy, drama and mystery. Each episode giving a different feel from the last one. The show is balanced in it's themes and it keeps you wanting to watch the next episodes. When I started watching the show I remember I wasn't sure if I were going to like it. But, overtime I realized this isn't some cliche show and each episode continues to surprise me. Even during the latest season (3) it continues to leave me with joy by the end of an episode.

I have always loved the idea about a world where everyone is united differences aside and resources are available basically anywhere. It's about the status and what you do with your time that's valuable not how much of something you have. It'd be incredible but so different if we lived in that world today. Maybe centuries from now or something the world will look a lot like the show who knows. I always thought about what if the world has infinite resources and everything was available. The Orville is the prime example of that well aside from the who ships and other planets thing, I didn't think about that lol!

I love the on going themes and the character development that continues to arise in future episodes on the series. It isn't one of those series that visits one thing and throws it away later. They come back to explore more of it while adding morality, ethics and societal lessons throughout each episode. Not only is it fun to watch but it's lessons that the characters go through can sometimes feel so relatable in our world today. The show has 100% become one of my top favourite shows maybe even my number 1 beating Scrubs. I don't often hear much about the show but maybe it's because my medias algorithm just doesn't show me it. But, I think it's underrated for sure. The cast is great too with a great set of acting skills.  A random thing I wanna add as well is that the comedy is also well done and it isn't over the top.

Now I'm going to be talking about some recent episodes and again spoilers ahead. By the end of season 3 I really enjoyed the show a lot more then I usually enjoy shows. I watch most of my shows alone and for some reason my reactions by myself are pretty quite even though I'm enjoying what I'm watching like a lot! But, this season had me gasping, covering my mouth with my hand, saying things like "awwww", laughing out loud and more physical expressions that shows I'm enjoying it. I don't do that too often when I watch shows. At least I think I don't.

SPOILERS: We ended season 3 with Claire & Issacs wedding and that last episode was perfect. Leading up to it there was so many things that happened this season. The emotional roller coaster with Bortus & his family, Gordon & his alternate self, Ed & his Daughter, the conflict with the Moclans, the conflict with the Kaylon, the separation with the Krill, the story of Charly Burke, Topa & her troubles and Issac/Timmis emotional parts. All of these themes kept me very entertained and they corresponded with each other well. Charly Burke despite at first making me feel annoyed about her character because I was bias loving Issac's character lol. She was an amazing example of a strong character development story. Like I said I was annoyed at first but that's when you know character development is well created and strong. When the show makes you dislike a character in a way due to personal attachments to other factors then, later on feeling different about the character then you did when you first saw them. It's like you are changing with them in a weird way. Charly Burke in my opinion had a great story & ending. Not too much with her but enough to make you feel like you'll miss her.

Another great example of that character development would be Kelly. Over the seasons I felt like I had a bitter sweet feeling towards the character but she proved to be a great person overall despite what you see in episode 1. I loved her evolvement in being a support to those who have needed it this season. By the end of the last episode you could see her holding hands with Ed again hinting that her role as being not only co commander but the crews great friend will be even bigger next season. Well at least I think so.

One of my favourite scenes this season was the time when Issac had emotions for a little bit and decided to surprise Claire in the simulator. Scenes like those are expected but unexpected in a way. You just through so many good themes this season and when something like that show up, it's so heartwarming after seeing what crazy things has happened so far. That scene where Issac was showing emotion was amazing. You are so used to the character being general and robotic at times until you see that moment and it was so cool/sweet.

The last episode not only ending with the marriage but it also introduced a new set up for the next season. A new set up/character. They went back to Sargus 4 and found Lysella wanting to join the Orville. I loved the way they talked about it during the show. Not to mention the returning character of Lysella from one of the popular past episodes of the show. It's awesome because literally a few episodes before I was wondering if we were ever going to see her again. The actor herself I know from Netflix/Marvels series The Punisher. She acted very well in that and I was thinking about how it was a missed opportunity how they didn't keep her. It made sense though it would've been a bit random to let her join a long time ago. But the episode starting with her arrival was a surprise. Now later on she was about to leave but she was caught trying to improve her world by stealing information aboard the orville. Again with Kelly being a great supportive character she talked with Lysella about the themes of playing God & not being able to just give her world what they need. I almost believed she was gonna leave but I'm glad she didn't. Her character will be an amazing addition to the crew. Hopefully she plays bug roles next season. I really enjoyed that about not being able to help her world due to the growth they need to do themselves. I saw the overall message coming from Kelly which isn't a bad thing at all but it shows that this show has some great stuff that people can relate to in real life. And to end it all Alara's return was a great unexpected addition!

I love this show a lot that I've written so much about it! I currently do not have anything else to say but IF, I do it'll be written underneath this paragraph with a new date and time. Over all great show and 10/10 would recommend.

Let's talk Animal Crossing New Horizons! 11/09/21

Animal Crossing New Horizons is a super fun game! Well... depends on what type of games you like to play. This post is going to be about ACNH not any of the games before because I have never played them. These will be some of my opinions and observations about the game! Let's talk about it.

ACNH or Animal Crossing New Horizons is a very fun progressive game to have. Its pretty wholesome, sometimes funny (depending on your humour), theres objectives to follow/set and its exciting. Playing the game for the first time without having much knowledge towards it except some basic things you've heard online, is such a positive experience. Learning how the game works, the music, the sounds and the aesthetics of what you can do are amazing.

It's a good game for most ages to sit down and relax. With its farming vibe and wholesome gameplay, it's a good game to throw some time away or to play it just to play it, ya know?

The game offers you to make friendships with villagers (which are animals), customized clothing/wardrobe and an island you can fill with your own ideas. You can also collect a lot of things that make the game feel more valuable in progress. I think those are the basics of what you can expect from this game.

As far as multiplayer goes, I wouldn't say this game is a "multiplayer game". Yes it has multiplayer but if you are looking to get in a call and run some animal crossing with the boys, this ain't it son. Multiplayer is more for gathering together and just enjoying what others have on their island. A little virtual world to show your progress to friends. Animal crossing has a community that loves to share and help each other. Multiplayer is for that. Multiplayer is also a way for people to trade/sell with each other. And lastly, customization. You can get various customized shirts, patterns, and furniture that are player made. This cannot be done without an online membership. Maybe they will do more with multiplayer in the near future!

The new 2.0 update was just introduced with lots of new items and content. The update is a big win in my opinion. It really adds some nice stuff you can do and some nice details that we never had before. This just shows the potential of what could come to the game in the future.

Animal Crossing New Horizons:

-Friendly

-Wholesome

-Adventure

-Creativity

-Excitement

Audience and what you should expect:

Let's talk about the targeted audience of the game. The games audience isn't too specific. Its not for a certain age unless you are like 3 years old therefore the concept of gaming is pretty irrelevant in your current stage of life lol. The game isn't for everybody so I recommend not getting it unless you really know you are going to enjoy it. HOWEVER, if you want to try it out and feel like maybe this is a game you'll like than go for it. But know this before buying it.

Patience. This is a big thing. If you are an impatient person this game is not for you. This game requires a lot of patience, you build your island up day by day, getting bells (money) is not super fast, new buildings and new objectives will take time to appear. The game has a lot of farming. Reminds me of Minecraft in a way but it is still very different. The dialogue and loading screens are also things you just need to get yourself used to. This isn't a game you can speed through, it's a game of commitment, patience, and thinking.

Cheats. If you are a gamer who likes exploits and cheats, which in my opinions ruins some games. This game isn't like that. The only "cheat" you can really do is changing the time on your switch to progress faster. I recommend not doing this unless you have VERY good reason to. Yes you can pick up the paste but you do it too much and you'll be at a point where the game will be stale and burnt out. The progress you've made might not feel as real and it ruins the excitement of day to day progress.

Objectives/goals. If you are the type of gamer who enjoys more storyline quests or a directive to follow ACNH isn't completely like that. There are objectives and goals to follow but, most of the time especially later in the game it's up to you to create goals and ideas to pursue. The start is mostly the only time where you get new objectives to follow from Tom Nook. It really plays into patience as well because there won't always be something that you might wanna do.

Nit-picky People. You are not going to enjoy this game if you really think about the things that annoy you too much. Well... just like most things if you nit pick a lot you're making your own standards for a game (could even be a movie, show etc.) too high. You won't find it fun when you sit there thinking about what you could've spent your time doing or what this game can improve on.

There aren't really ways you can play this game "wrong" unless it's just not for you.

Let's talk Minecraft! 10/1/21

I originally started playing Minecraft on my IPad Mini years ago in 2013. So yeah, I started off on Pocket Edition. I bought Java Minecraft eventually but never really got to play it permanently because I never had a laptop that stayed around long enough!

Currently I own Bedrock on my Phone and Switch. Although I don't have Switch online for cross platform play... I also have Java on my Macbook Air and I play SMP's with friends sometimes and Hypixel Games. I also have done some Sky Factory 4 modded survival. On the Pocket Edition days I used to be a beast at Survival Games and PVP servers XD. I even bought a mobile controller because Minecraft Pe was everything in my gaming world back then. Good Times. Now i'm pretty bad at Java pvp lol.

My Favourite Java Server games to play are:

Fun Fact there used to be two Pocket Editions of Minecraft. The normal one and a free demo-like Minecraft. The demo version was very limited to what blocks you have, only zombies would spawn, you have infinite blocks, basically a creative mode and surprisingly you could connect with other demo users!

My Characters and their Whereabouts! 10/1/21

Odd/Fun Fact about myself. I used to do a story roleplaying thing in Minecraft IOS with my cousins for years. I say we probably stopped playing it in 2017. I made over 500+ Male Characters with different Powers, Personalities and Skins. I didn't know how to make female skins lol. I'd act as every single character and switched character from time to time.

My cousins would be the main characters of the story and I set up stuff for them to do. They make choices that lead to different scenarios.

For this fun universe I made trailers, digital posters, a website, digital cards, character development, fan favourites and many more things just for them!

Sometimes if I feel like it, il'l still make a skin or two.

I hope one day the characters I made can resurface and il'l have my own universe of characters. There are so many of them so it'll take a lot of work.

In fact I call it MystFlame Universe or The Pumpkin Chronicle Universe. The name needs some work. The Pumpkin Characters you see everywhere from me are all linked together to the old heroes and villains Iv'e made in Minecraft.

I don't want to think of them as just Minecraft skins I made. They feel like much more than that!

Maybe il'l resurface it more overtime.
