Mr. Anderson - Music Department Head
Mr. Anderson is originally from Elk Grove Village, IL, where he was active in music from a young age. A graduate of Millikin University in Decatur, IL, Mr. Anderson was a member of the University Wind Ensemble and was the lead trumpet in Millikin Jazz I ensemble all 4 years. His first job out of college was teaching K-12 music in Ohio, IL. In 2014 he was hired as the Director of Music in Polo, where he taught for 3 years. Mr. Anderson is very excited to be in Rock Falls and hopes to be here for many years to come. His greatest musical accomplishment is having performed with the National Wind Ensemble on the stage of Carnegie Hall in New York as a senior in high school. Mr. Anderson lives in Dixon with his wife and two children!
Ramiro Martinez - Percussion
Ramiro is the founder and music/program coordinator for all Rhythm-Quest ensembles. With more than 40 years of experience, he serves as percussion coordinator, instructor and arranger. He currently teaches percussion at Rock Falls High School, where he has taught since 1975, as well as Geneseo and Rochelle high schools, and Sterling's Challand Middle School and Woodlawn Arts Academy.
He served as the percussion coordinator and arranger for the now inactive Geneseo Knights Drum and Bugle Corps and currently is an arranger for the Knights Alumni Drum Line with members from Kewanee, Geneseo and the Quad Cities. Ramiro's marching experience includes Rock Falls High School as well as the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps in Rockford.
