Revolutionary Review Submissions

Submission guidelines for Revolutionary Review:

Revolutionary Review accepts submissions year-round but publishes biannually. We currently only publish work online, but in the future we will incorporate in-print.

We publish the finest work of contemporary literary arts. Our only review criterion is the excellence of the work. We also do not have specific themes. We want to see what you can bring us! We currently have a preference for works that could be serialized.

Revolutionary Review publishes serialization, poetry, short fiction, creative nonfiction, novel excerpt, photography, and book review. There is NO fee to submit.

General guidelines:

Send all work to rpresseditors@gmail.com as docx. (Word document) attachments..
Please include a brief author bio written in the email.
Please put "Revolutionary Review submission" in your email's subject line.
We accept both multiple and simultaneous submissions, but please let us know if your submission has been accepted elsewhere.
Please submit only previously unpublished work.

For Poetry:

Up to 4 poems per submission, please include all poems in one document. Line count (per poem): less than 80 lines.

For Fiction:

Up to 1 story per submission (or 2 flash fiction placed in one document). Word count: no more than 7,500 words (or 1,000 words for flash).

For serialization, we accept novellas or anything under 40,000 words. Publication cycle for serials are to be determined with the editors upon acceptance.

For Nonfiction:

Up to 1 nonfiction per submission (or 2 flash nonfiction placed in one document). Word count: no more than 7,500 words (or 1,000 words for flash)

For Novel Excerpt:

Up to 1 novel excerpt per submission. Word count: no more than 7,500 words.

For Photography:

Up to 5 photographs per submission. 300 dpi or larger.

For Book Reviews:

Up to 2 reviews per submission. Word count: no more than 1,500 words per review. Please provide the publisher, publication year, price, and page count of the book(s) you're reviewing.

We aim to respond within 10 weeks or sooner.

Although we are based in California, USA, we encourage international submission, as long as the submission is in English.

What we don't want:

We do not publish work that discriminate any group using any means. Revolutionary Review is an inclusive literary community aimed to support all readers and writers.

Rights and Payment:

Upon publication, all rights revert to the author. If you would like to reprint your work elsewhere, please acknowledge Revolutionary Press Review as the original publisher.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer payment for now.

Instructions for Book-Length Work for Serialization:

Since Revolutionary Review hopes to revive the traditional 18th-19th centuries literary serialization, if you have a book-length work (a novel, a collection, a memoir etc.) that you wish to be serialized in Rev. Review, please send the full work to rpresseditors@gmail.com as a docx. (Word document).

Rev. Review only asks for non-exclusive publication rights, so you are free to republish your serialized work elsewhere or republish it in the traditional book form, as long as you credit Revolutionary Review as its first publisher.
