The Hand-Me-Down Program is something we offer to ALL students of any gender identification in any class style. If we have the attire you need in your size in our hand-me-downs inventory, we will give it to you to use FOR FREE. We just ask that when you are done with them or have outgrown them, you hand them back in to us so that they can be used by other kids in need.
Donating to the Hand-Me-Down Program. If you have dance attire and shoes that no longer fit you or aren't being used and still have life left in them, please consider donating them to our studio! We accept leotards, biketards (like used in gymnastics), tights without holes or runs, ballet skirts, jazz pants and shorts, ballet shoes in black, pink, and suntan, tap shoes, character shoes, and character skirts. Costumes are also welcome!
If we don't have what you need, you can order your dress code attire here: www.eurotard.com/v4/classes.aspx?studio=S-Re9947 or visit The Dance Store in Salem, which carries all of our uniform needs. Just tell them you are from RDMC in Silverton and they will get you taken care of!
Pre-Ballet through Advanced Ballet Levels, each has a specific leotard (and some skirts) style and color. As students graduate and progress through the levels, they change colors, much like belt colors in the Martial Arts. Tights and ballet shoes should match the student's skin as closely as possible. Hair must be up in a tidy bun, or for short-haired students, as much as possible, off of the face. No Tutus, please, as they are not long enough for proper arms and hands training and are often distracting.

It's never too soon to start training professionally. Professionalism is how you conduct and present yourself, whether you decide to use your training for a dance career or not, the skills you obtain in this program will serve you a lifetime!
This Spring training program is designed to meet the needs of dedicated students who seek the highest standard of classical ballet education to prepare for a professional career.
Working daily under Marta Hazekamp’s artistic direction, students will develop the essential skills to fully explore and realize their greatest individual potential. This program is based on the Vaganova method, a system of training that is logical, thought-provoking, inspiring, and highly effective, with elements of Balanchine’s innovative technique.
Along with lessons in classical technique, students are immersed in learning the classical repertoire and are exposed to various workshops to develop fluency in various dance styles such as modern, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, and character dance. Conditioning is an integral part of the training, using the PBT® method. PTP members will receive special choreography, performance opportunities, events, workshop opportunities, and field trip outings.
Placement is decided by the director as per the audition. You do NOT need to be a current RDMC student to participate.
Preparatory Ages 10-13 *exceptional 8 and 9-year-olds may be accepted. The base level prerequisite is Ballet Level 3. A minimum of 2 hours of ballet per week is required.
Junior Ages 12-15 *exceptional 11-year-olds may be accepted. The base level prerequisite is Pre-Pointe. A minimum of 3 hours of ballet per week is required.

Signed contracts are required for a commitment. There are no refunds.
Company members will need a special leotard for their PTP classes, show exemplary behavior, arrive looking professional in tidy buns and clean attire, and demonstrate punctuality.
Regardless of Preparatory, Junior, or Senior Level, all PTP dancers must be enrolled in Ballet classes at your level (and attend for all days scheduled) and one extra-curricular dance class such as Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern, or PBT.
We welcome dancers from other dance studios! All are welcome here. Students from other studios need to provide their dance schedule to the director to ensure they are taking enough hours of ballet for their level. If they are not, we require that they supplement classes at RDMC to fulfill the requirement.
Ballet provides the technique required for all forms of dance that the PTP will explore. Students who aren’t taking enough hours of ballet training will inhibit their growth within the program.
You may pay all at once for the year, or split it into monthly payments. Please discuss this with the director.
These are figured assuming that you are already taking the prerequisites required for this program (stated above) and paying those separately. *The uniform leotard is not included in the cost.
