Lifesum is an Android app that promises to be a personalized health and lifestyle guide. Regarding the design, the interface is attractive: fresh, minimalist and intuitive.
As soon as you download it, you get your profile from some basic data: age, weight, height and waist circumference; and also of food needs and preferences (gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan diet, rich in fiber, low in sodium, ..)
You can personalize it by adding a photo. You can also interact with other users by sharing experiences, recipes and opinions.
From here on, a daily caloric value and recommended intakes and the desirable distribution of carbohydrates, proteins and fats are established.
After completing your profile, you can start filling in your diet, hydration and exercise diary.
The app offers you 5 options when entering your intakes: breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. You choose one and you start to enter the foods or recipes. You have the option to search for them from the barcode, locate them in a file by categories, in a search engine and even create them.
You also have a test of food preferences and healthy habits (Life Score).
From a holistic point of view, the application aims to be your nutritional coaching, after each intake you will find a suggestion or a motivating phrase to facilitate your goals. What I like most about this aspect of the application is the moderation and positivity of the message.

More positive aspects of Lifesum:
It makes it easy to keep a diary of intake, hydration and exercise.
It makes you more aware of your habits (eating, hydration, physical exercise).
It encourages you to improve your habits or maintain them if they are appropriate.
Its synchronization with other apps.
Its design and ease of use.
It adjusts to your needs and preferences.
Its free in basic functions.
Its accessibility.
On the other hand, the less attractive aspects:
Having to pay for extra services.
The cookbook is not available in Spanish. The one that is international food, a bit far from our very rich Spanish culinary tradition.
The recommended caloric and macronutrient balance should be only a rough guide. The percentage of fat and muscle is not measurable with the required parameters.
In my opinion it is not comparable with the personal assessment of a nutritionist.
In conclusion, my balance of the application is positive. I find it practical, useful and very accessible to make us more aware of our habits and keep us motivated on the path to a healthier l
