Comment lire un texte ancien aujourd’hui ? Comment doit-on réagir à des sensibilités littéraires qui ne sont plus les nôtres ?

Ce sont des questions que nous voulons considérer au cours de cet atelier qui vise à confronter les normes canoniques des études littéraires, en amenant au jour des textes anciens,  notamment médiévaux peu lus, marginaux, subversifs, non traduits, ou bien inconnus.

L'atelier Reverdie de l'Université de Bucarest donne une voix aux textes anciens à travers des traductions, lectures publiques à haute voix, et présentations théâtrales. L'atelier est structuré par des réunions bimensuelles pour lire et traduire ensemble.

Nous invitons les étudiants, les chercheurs et les curieux intéressés par les textes littéraires anciens en langues vernaculaires à participer aux discussions avec nous sur de nouvelles possibilités de lecture.

Presentation of the workshop

How do we read old texts today? How should we react to literary sensibilities that are no longer our own?

These are questions we wish to consider in the course of this workshop, which aims to confront the canonical norms of literary studies by bringing to light medieval and ancient texts that are infrequently read, marginal, subversive, untranslated, or entirely unknown.

The Reverdie Workshop at the University of Bucharest gives a voice to ancient texts through translations, public readings, and theatre productions. The workshop is structured by bi-monthly meetings to read and translate as a group. 

We invite students, researchers, and anyone else interested in ancient and medieval literary vernacular texts to participate with us in discussions and debates about new possibilities of reading.
