My research bridges the gap between molecular biochemistry and clinical ophthalmology, focusing on the following key areas:
Artificial Vision: Developing technologies to restore visual sensitivity in degenerative retinal diseases.
AI in Ophthalmology: Leveraging deep learning and artificial intelligence for the diagnosis and management of retinal pathologies.
Retinal Aging & Degeneration: Investigating age-related biochemical changes in the retina using the African Turquoise Killifish (Nothobranchius furzeri) as a novel aging model.
