In 2016, The Sebezenza Umhlaba campaign (meaning "work the land" in isiZulu) was held to inform the public about community-based solutions to climate change and hunger - which are two key parts of the ecological crisis. It was held as a "roadshow" in Ekurhuleni, Johannesburg.
Peri-urban communities learnt about the local impacts of climate change, and how to do urban farming.
In 2015, Rethink Africa published a research report on the then-forthcoming new national minimum wage for South Africa.
This was followed by an awareness campaign & dialogues across major South African cities, towns and townships such as: Cape Town, Durban & Newcastle (KZN) Sandton, Alexandra and KwaThema (Gauteng) amongst many others.
