Have you ever wondered how good your favorite MLB team would be if free agency and trades didn't exist? In other words, if all players were restored to the franchise that originally drafted them, what would the resulting rosters look like?
This site attempts to answer that question. For all 30 MLB teams, all players on the 40 man roster were transferred back to their original franchise.
In some cases, the new roster will have way more than 40 players, and in others the team can't even fill out an active roster. It's all based on how well teams draft, sign, and develop their prospects, as well as how much other teams are dependent on trades, free agents, and waiver claims to fill out their roster.
