Because the members of Assembly and Senate Budget Committees will make this decision, these are the people we need to focus on. It takes to steps:
1. Find out who both your Assemblymember and Senator are here.
2. Check their names against this lists of Budget Committee members. If their name is on the list, WE NEED YOU TO CONTACT THEM.

Budget Committee by Region:
The most effective way to advocate is to meet directly with your legislators (both Assemblymember and Senator) or their staff. It is often hard to get meetings with the actual elected official but staff are always willing to meet or talk on the phone. Every legislator has an office in Sacramento who are the ones that work on these issues. But if you can’t make it to Sacramento, meeting with their staff in their district offices is also good.
Other ways to communicate your concerns are by calling and sending emails to the Budget Committee members. This is most effective when you get hundreds of people to call or email. So it is critical to get the word out.
Find templates for emails and phone call scripts here.
