ABOUT OUR PACK

Who We Are

Cub Scout Pack 32 serves the Terraset Elementary School community in Reston, Virginia. If your child is in kindergarten through fifth grade (even if they're not a Terraset student) and interested in Cub Scouts, read on!

The Cub Scout Program is open to boys and girls in grades K-5, and each grade level is in a different den (see below). After 5th grade, kids have the option of transitioning into a local Scout Troop.

Activities

Cub Scouts participate in a huge array of activities, including games, projects, skits, stunts, songs, outdoor activities, trips, and service projects. Besides being fun, these activities offer opportunities for growth, achievement, and family involvement.

Den & Pack Structure

A den is a group of six to eight children who are in the same grade. It is the place where Cub Scouting starts. In the den, Cub Scouts develop new skills and interests, practice sportsmanship and good citizenship, and learn to do their best, not just for themselves but for the den as well.

The Benefits of Scouting

Being a Cub Scout means you are a member of a worldwide youth movement that stands for certain values and beliefs. Cub Scouting is more than something to do. It's all about the boy or girl you are and the person you will become. Scouting promises you the great outdoors. As a Scout, you can learn how to camp and hike without leaving a trace and how to take care of the land. You’ll study wildlife up close and learn about nature all around you. There are plenty of skills for you to master, and you can teach others what you have learned.

Cub Scouts do fun things together! They get to wear a cool uniform, go places, and see things. They play all kinds of sports and build things, like race cars and bird houses. Want to learn a secret code? Want to learn about wild animals? Go Cub Scouting!

Our priority is to bring the benefits of Scouting to more youth while remaining true to our mission:

The BSA’s mission is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. We are excited to announce that our Cub Scouting program is now open to boys and girls. By welcoming both girls and boys into the program, even more youth will have access to the character development and values-based leadership that Scouting promises.
