There are plenty of ways to get involved in your community! The organizations below explicitly welcome youth and teen volunteers, but you can always ask other places about their opportunities!
Volunteers as young as 10 can help out at FOTAS!
You can play with the shelter animals, work the front desk, help with walking and grooming, and more!
Volunteers ages 10-17 must have a parent/guardian supervise them.
ACTS of Aiken is a partnership of more than 69 local churches and faith organizations that provides services such as food delivery for seniors, a food pantry, and two thrift stores.
Volunteers are welcome! You don't have to be a member of any particular religion to help out.
Do you love the great outdoors? Secretly dream of being a park ranger? Volunteer with the Hitchcock Woods Foundation!
Volunteers help maintain the park and trails, assist in horse events and shows, and more.
The Rotary Club of Aiken has two youth-focused service organizations:
If you attend Aiken High School, Interact is the Rotary service club. All high schoolers, including those who don't attend Aiken High, can join.
College-age students can join Rotoract, which is based on the University of South Carolina Aiken's campus.
They also have a scholarship fund that accepts applications every year.
If you're 16-18 years old, you can be a Junior Volunteer with ARMC.
Volunteers can help with a variety of tasks, including working the information desk or gift shop, visiting patients, and staffing the volunteer office.
If you're interested in a medical career or just want to learn more about how hospitals work, this program could be a good fit for you.
This summer program is open to teens ages 15-18 and accepts submissions until late February. You'll need a school counselor recommendation form and a letter of recommendation from someone other than your family, as well as a short essay explaining why you want to participate.
