CLIMATE INFORMATION SERVICES
Climate information are data gathered for adaptation to climate change, long-term planning, and early warning systems. With this intervention, it strengthens the adoption of AMIA as a national initiative for climate change in agriculture, the application of the landscape approach in agricultural development planning, launch of system wide programs on climate change. Some of the CIS provisions are establishing climate data collection equipment (e.g., Automatic Weather Stations), building capacities to process and analyze data and generating climate forecasts to farmers and stakeholders.
There are two types of CIS provided to agriculture and fishery communities:

Climate- and Weather-Informed Farming and Fishing Advisories
The Agro-Climatic Advisory portal or ACAP is an online web application for disseminating weather- and climate-based farming and fishing advisories for the AMIA Villages and other LGUs. The portal guides extension workers in creating and disseminating locally contextualize advisories and recommendations for farmers and fisherfolk to address the impacts of climate change, through its online-accessible tools for automatic bulletins creation, among others.
Typhoon Risk Information
The Typhoon Risk Map shows the monthly typhoon incidence in each province of the country. It is a useful guide for adjusting planting calendar to ensure that production losses and damages are minimized. Patterns indicated that most super typhoons happen in third and fourth quarter of the year. Hence, farmers are advised to prevent from matching their harvest season during these months.
