Robotics serves as my chosen co-curricular activity (CCA) in school, a decision rooted in my passion for coding and information technology (IT). In Secondary 1, we dived into the fundamentals of coding, including platforms like Scratch. The Robotics Club organized holiday courses, such as the Virtual Space coding course and CoderZ Coding Challenge, both of which I actively took part in. Moving on to Secondary 2, our focus shifted to intermediate-level coding. Although we participated in a competition, we didn't secure a victory.
By Secondary 3, I assumed the role of President of the Robotics Club. As the President of Robotics, I have made multiple changes. The changes include;
planning the 2023 Robotics Open House.
Organised the first Secondary 1 and Secondary 3 bonding sessions
Organised and created the first ever 'Executive Committee'
Planned the first Robotics Values-In-Action program
Planned the second Robotics Values-In-Action program
Planned and executed the cleaning and refurbishing of the Robotics Club room.
Last year was marked by learning how to code Lego Mindstorm and engaging in a Lego Mindstorm competition. Despite not clinching the top spot, we proudly made it into the top 15 contestants in the competition.
This year, as the Seniors in Robotics, we took oversee the discipline of the juniors, and mentored them. We completed the task of refurbishing the Robotics Club Room.
It was tough to depart from something that has been such as a big part of my Secondary school life. I walk away with a treasure trove of memories and experiences that will be beneficial for my future growth.
