The majority of my sources come from websites or books. For research in Medway, I use Medway Archives Center and the Guildhall Museum, Rochester a lot. Their archives can be viewed online and they have many items in their collections dating back to the Roman times.
Some author I use for my research include Edwin Harris, Frederick Francis Smith, Phillip MacDougall and a few others. The following is more about them:
Edwin Harris
He was a historian from Rochester and wrote many guides to parts of Rochester and their History. While he is unreliable and doesn't use sources which are prooven to be correct, he does still have some good information in his books which is usefull for research.
Frederick Francis Smith
A former Mayor and Alderman for the City of Rochester. He wrote a 500 page book on the history of Rochester. This book is very good for research as it has its sources listed. He used the city archives to write the book and so has reliable sources. Considering he was a Mayor, he also had access to archives other may not have.
