Virtual fundraiser: Save the date

Due to COVID-19, this year, our fall fundraiser will be held virtually. Please save the date: October 25th, 2020. More details to come!

Bond Night: 007

The Research Civitan Club (RCC) will be hosting our annual fundraiser to benefit the Civitan-Sparks Clinic on Saturday, November 2nd, 2019 from 4-7 PM. The theme is “Bond Night: 007” and will involve fun games, activities, food, and drawing for various prizes.

The Civitan-Sparks Clinic have been providing evaluation and diagnostic services for developmental, behavioral, and genetic disorders for nearly 45 years in Alabama. Please join us for a night of fun and excitement to benefit this good cause!

Tickets can be purchased here. Tickets are $30 for general admission, UAB faculty/staff and $15 for students, postdocs and trainees.

BlazerPulse

UAB is currently implementing a community engagement platform called BlazerPulse. Faculty, staff, and students will be able to track their impact of community engagement through this system. Thus, the RCC and any Civitan activity is an ideal measurement for BlazerPulse. We encourage all members to join the RCC BlazerPulse webpage linked here (using your standard blazer ID + password) and please add your "impact" to the RCC page. Impact is defined as any volunteering based activity under the following categories: "Time, Money, Training, Goods or Other".

Here are the detailed steps on how to add your impact to the RCC BlazerPulse page (these steps would be the same for any other BlazerPulse group/event, with the exception of the link shown in the first point below):

• Click on the following link to go to RCC BlazerPulse (join the RCC group if you have not done this yet): https://uab.givepulse.com/group/223560-Research-Civitan-Club

• Click on Add Impact on the right side of the screen (green icon)

• Fill out the page that shows up with the date of impact and what kind of impact (Time, Training, Money etc...)

• If you wish to leave any feedback on your experience, feel free to do so, but this is not a requirement

• Click on Save Impact

That's it! Upon impact approval from the RCC BlazerPulse admin (Lara Ianov), your impact will be shown at the RCC BlazerPulse page and also in your own BlazerPulse profile. Feel free to share your data as you see fit!
