Loss of connection with the environment stems from a lack of outdoor knowledge, uncertainty of the unknown, and limited availability of supplies. My Backpacks for a Better Community project will alleviate stress about hiking and outdoor activities and will break the barrier between people and nature, allowing for a happier, healthier community.

Hello, my name is Alivia Isaacson and I am an ambassador Girl Scout from 8858 located in Bettendorf Iowa. I have been enjoying the outdoors for as long as I can remember and being active in nature has been a huge part of my life. By creating this project, I am hoping that others in my neighborhood can also begin or continue to have fun outdoors by partaking in hiking and camping. And even if hiking or camping isn't your thing, I believe that anyone can find activities they love doing in nature.
