Every business has a beginning. Ours started with a love for food, a simple pastillas, and a dream that would eventually become Rensel’s Food Products.
Chef Mae Selene Puentespina-Resultay turned her passion for cooking into entrepreneurship. A graduate of The Center for Asian Culinary Studies in Manila with Silver Medal Distinction, she brought her culinary training, creativity, and love for food into what would eventually become Rensel’s.
But the Rensel’s story did not begin in a big kitchen or with a large investment.
It began with ₱1 pastillas sold at her mother’s sari-sari store in Isabela, Negros Occidental.
With only ₱150 in starting capital to purchase basic ingredients, Selene began experimenting and developing her own recipes.
The name Rensel’s was created from the names Rene + Selene, representing the husband-and-wife partnership behind the growing business.
As demand increased, Selene continued creating and improving products such as Pastillas de Leche, Toasted Pastillas, and Chocotillas. Eventually, Rene left his job to work alongside Selene, helping oversee production and quality control.
What started as one person’s passion was becoming a family business built together.
Two Names. One Dream. One Rensel’s.
One of Rensel’s early opportunities came when our products were displayed at the LASBEMPCO cooperative at the University of Saint La Salle in Bacolod City.
Our journey gained further direction through the support of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). Encouraged by Mr. Engiemar Tupaz, Selene attended a Packaging and Labeling Seminar and later received continued guidance through DTI’s Negosyo Center.
Those early interventions taught us that creating a good product was only the beginning. Packaging, branding, marketing, business development, and continuous learning were equally important.
Soon, new doors began to open—from entrepreneurship and digital marketing programs to opportunities to showcase Rensel’s products at trade fairs, including the Negros Trade Fair and Panublion Trade Fair.
A product that once sat in a small sari-sari store was beginning to travel beyond Isabela.
Learning. Growing. Taking Chances.
Trade fairs gave Rensel’s opportunities to introduce our products, learn from others, connect with new markets, and proudly represent Isabela, Negros Occidental.
As Rensel’s grew, innovation became part of our identity.
We believe that Filipino delicacies can honor tradition while continuing to evolve. This inspired us to experiment with new products, techniques, local ingredients, and flavors while remaining rooted in the food heritage of Negros.
Our Greaseless Toasted Pastillas became one of the products that helped define Rensel’s, followed by an expanding collection of delicacies and innovative creations.
For us, innovation is not about leaving tradition behind.
It is about taking what we love about our heritage and finding new ways for people to experience it.

From local ingredients to unexpected creations—this is how Rensel’s continues to explore, create, and innovate.🌱
No matter how far our products travel, Isabela, Negros Occidental will always be home.
As Rensel’s reached larger trade fairs and new markets, our purpose became even clearer: we wanted our growth to help showcase the creativity, local ingredients, flavors, and people of our hometown and province.
Every opportunity to bring Rensel’s outside Isabela became an opportunity to bring a little piece of Negros with us.
Wherever Rensel’s goes, we proudly carry our roots with us.
From our hometown to larger markets, every Rensel’s booth carries the flavors, creativity, and story of Isabela, Negros Occidental.
Tatak Isabela. Sarap ng Bayan. 🌸
What began with just ₱150 in starting capital grew through years of hard work, faith, continuous learning, innovation, and the support of people who believed in our journey.
In 2026, Rensel’s reached another meaningful milestone when Chef Mae Selene Resultay was recognized as a KMME Growth Champion.
For us, this recognition is more than an award. It is a reminder that small beginnings can grow into bigger possibilities.
Start Small. Dream Big. Continue to Bloom. 🌸
Our story is still being written.
There are still new flavors to discover, local ingredients to explore, products to create, people to serve, and dreams waiting to become reality.
We remain deeply grateful to our family, our Rensel’s team, our customers, our mentors and partners, our local community, and everyone who has been part of our journey.
What began with a simple ₱1 pastillas and ₱150 in starting capital reminds us that no dream is too small when it is nurtured with passion, faith, hard work, and perseverance.
From humble beginnings, we continue to bloom. 🌸
