Welcome to Rensel's

Chef Mae Selene Resultay is a culinary artist who successfully transitioned into entrepreneurship, combining her cooking skills with business acumen to create the now-popular Rensel’s Food Products. A graduate of The Center for Asian Culinary Studies in Manila with Silver Medal Distinction, Selene is a trained chef, instructor, culinary consultant, and TESDA-certified trainer. She found her calling in making pastillas, a sweet Filipino milk candy, which she first sold for just Php 1.00 in her mother’s sari-sari store in Isabela. The simple start with limited capital led to a growing demand, especially from kids, which sparked her determination to turn this pastime into a business.

Rensel’s Food Products, derived from her and her husband Rene’s names, began with a small investment of Php 150.00 to purchase basic ingredients. Selene’s experimentation led to unique recipes, including Toasted Pastillas, Chocotillas and Pastillas de Leche. As the business grew, Rene left his job to support her, taking on quality control and production management.

Rensel's Food Products gained early recognition when their product was displayed at the LASBEMPCO cooperative at the University of Saint La Salle, Bacolod City. Encouraged by Mr. Engiemar Tupaz from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Selene participated in a Packaging and Labeling Seminar and continued to receive guidance through DTI’s Negosyo Center. This support opened doors to digital marketing seminars and opportunities to showcase their products at notable trade fairs like the Negros Trade Fair in Makati and the Panublion Trade Fair in Iloilo.

Rensel’s Food Products operates on the core belief that passion, faith, and skill are key to success, proving that even a small business can thrive with diligence and innovation. Their story exemplifies how chefs can leverage their talents beyond the kitchen to create brands that resonate in the local market.
